The rose is a combination of love and beauty. It is not only the incarnation of the God of Beauty, but also blended into the blood of the God of Love. So do you know how to plant rose seeds? The rose seeds sown by many people have not germinated because they did not do enough seed treatment before sowing. Let’s learn about the quick germination methods of rose seeds.
🌱How to germinate rose seeds
1. Low temperature germination
Rose seeds can be sown and propagated after germination. Generally, at a temperature of about 5℃ in winter, put the rose seeds into clean water and soak them for about two days. Then bury the seeds in the sand and wait for about two days. The seeds will germinate in a month, and the survival rate is higher when planted in spring.
2. Soak in warm water
In fact, in the rapid germination method of rose seeds, you can also soak the seeds in warm water at 40-50℃ for half an hour, take them out and soak them in clean water for half a day, and finally sow the seeds into loose pot soil. Wait patiently for 15 to 20 days for the seeds to take root and germinate.
3. Soak and dry
Rose seeds can also be prepared to be plump. First, soak the seeds in clean water for two days, then place the seeds in mild sunlight and dry them in the sun. This will allow the seeds to grow faster in the soil. Germination can also increase the germination rate of rose seeds.
4. Temperature control and germination
Under normal circumstances, you can also prepare high-quality seeds and sow them directly into potting soil suitable for growth. The ambient temperature needs to be controlled between 15 and 22°C. The potting soil should be watered appropriately and placed in astigmatism, Just wait patiently for the rose seeds to germinate in a ventilated environment.
🌲Rose sowing time
Sowing is usually done in spring (late March to mid-April). Water the soil before sowing, then sow the germinated seeds into the soil. After sowing, cover the seeds with 1 to 1.5 cm of soil. If sowing in winter, it is recommended that you provide a relatively warm environment for the seeds; if sowing in summer, it is recommended that you place the flower pots in an air-conditioned room or a cool place, and the ambient temperature is preferably around 20°C.
🌄How to sow roses
Put the seeds into the soil, usually 5 to 8 seeds can be sown in each container. After germination, leave one stronger seedling depending on the growth status of the seedlings; thin out the seedlings after germination, leaving 1 to 3 seedlings as appropriate. After sowing, the container should be covered with plastic wrap (convenience bag plastic film is also acceptable), and a few small holes should be punched in the plastic wrap to allow ventilation. Place the container in the sun and maintain a temperature of about 20 degrees. Most seeds will germinate after a week. After germination, transplant the seedlings into the ground.
📚Note: The germination rate of rose seeds is low, so the soil used for sowing generally needs to be loose, breathable and with high water-holding capacity. The commonly used soil is a mixture of vermiculite, peat, sphagnum moss, perlite, snake wood chips, etc. If conditions permit, you can also configure it yourself; if conditions do not exist, general weakly acidic soil can also be used, but there must be no foreign matter in the soil.
