Nepenthes is a perennial vine plant with oblong leaves and vines at the end. At the end of the vines, a bottle-shaped or funnel-shaped insect trap is formed with a lid. It is named because of its shape like a pig cage.

Each leaf of Nepenthes can only produce one insect trap. If the insect trap is old and withered or damaged for some reason, the original leaf will not grow a new insect trap. Only new leaves can grow new insect traps.

🗓️Daily maintenance

☀️Light: Likes a well-ventilated semi-shady environment, avoid direct sunlight; strong light in summer needs proper shading, otherwise the leaves are easily burned, affecting the development of leaf cages. If the environment is dark, you can use a fill light for about 4 hours a day

🌡️Temperature: Likes warmth, not cold-resistant, the suitable temperature for growth is 25-30℃, and it is necessary to strengthen ventilation and spray water mist to cool and moisturize when it exceeds 35℃. The wintering temperature is above 10℃

💦Watering: Likes moisture, Nepenthes is sensitive to water, and can only grow and develop normally under high humidity conditions. It needs to be sprayed frequently during the growth period, 4-5 times a day. Large temperature changes or excessive dryness will affect the formation of insect traps

🌱Soil: Generally, sphagnum moss is used as the substrate, and peat soil and perlite can also be mixed

✂️Pruning: Old leaves and yellow leaves need to be pruned to reduce nutrient consumption

🧴Fertilization: Nepenthes will absorb nutrients from the insects it preys on, so no fertilizer is needed. Nepenthes grown indoors do not need to be specially fed with insects. Nepenthes grown outdoors can usually catch insects on their own. In order to take into account indoor hygiene, you can use instant foliar fertilizer to supplement nutrients

🌹Flowering period: April-November

⚠️Precautions

✅Watering tips: You can use a shallow tray to soak in water - put the flower pot in a shallow tray filled with water and soak it for 30 minutes, allowing the water to slowly penetrate through the holes at the bottom of the pot, and then pour out the excess water in the tray

❎No leaf cages can be grown: It may be too dry. Nepenthes usually grow in relatively humid areas with a humidity of at least 60%
❤️Treatment: Spray water frequently during the growth period, 4-5 times a day, and cover the entire Nepenthes with a transparent plastic bag to increase the air humidity
